This tool has been designed to indicate state of wear and shows whether chain has been subjected to elongation to such an extent as to require replacement.
Features:
Suitable for checking chain elongation with passes/does not pass system
0% ÷ 0.75% chain does not need to be replaced
0.8% ÷ 1% chain needs to be replaced
A worn chain makes poor shifting and accelerates sprocket wear
