Stainless Steel Hand Tools

Stainless Steel Hand Tools

Salt air, caustic washdowns, steam and sugar will find the weak point in an ordinary chrome-vanadium tool long before it wears out. Beta’s INOX line answers that: stainless steel hand tools built for corrosion resistance, with AISI 420 specified across most of the range and Italian toolmaking heritage behind it. Supplied and supported in Australia by UNIPAC.

Where stainless steel actually earns its keep

Corrosion resistance protects two things at once: the tool, and the work around it. A tool that will not bloom rust is a tool that will not shed contamination into a production batch, a sterile bay or a finished hull. The surface is non-porous, so it wipes down rather than harbouring residue, and it holds that finish through repeated cleaning cycles. That is why stainless is standard issue in food processing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories and clean rooms, chemical handling and coastal work.

The grade question most suppliers skip

Stainless steel is not one material, and the distinction matters more than most spec sheets let on. Austenitic grades such as 304 and 316 resist corrosion superbly and are effectively non-magnetic, but they cannot be hardened by heat treatment, so tools cut from them give ground under real load. AISI 420 is martensitic: high in chromium, heat-treatable, and able to hold its hardness where the torque actually goes. It is magnetic, which is worth knowing before you order.

Beta applies each where it belongs. AISI 420 for the tools, where strength decides the outcome, and AISI 304 for the roller cab frame, where corrosion resistance matters more than hardness. If your site specification calls for a genuinely non-magnetic tool, tell us before you order and we will point you to the right option.

What's in the range

Metric and imperial combination wrenches sit alongside adjustable wrenches and heavy-duty pipe wrenches, with offset hexagon key wrenches in both standard and ball-head patterns. For driven fasteners, there are hexagon hand sockets and a 1/2" drive reversible ratchet. Slotted and cross-head screwdrivers come individually or as a boxed set, each blade anchored into a bimaterial handle. The pliers group runs to heavy-duty combination, slip joint, adjustable and diagonal cutting nippers, while the striking tools cover ball pein and engineer’s hammers, flat chisels, wedges and a universal spatula.

Storage built for the same conditions

Two pieces complete the picture. The C04TSS/7 mobile roller cab is framed entirely in AISI 304, with stainless castors, supports, bearings, drawer interiors and guides, aluminium drawer handles, non-marking wheels and a front centralised lock across seven drawers. The C20TSS five-section cantilever box resists rust and the main acids, and can be autoclave sterilised at 121°C.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which stainless grade are Beta INOX hand tools made from?

AISI 420 is specified across most of the range, a martensitic grade chosen because it can be hardened and therefore holds up under torque. The C04TSS/7 roller cab frame is AISI 304.

Are Beta stainless steel hand tools non-magnetic?

No. AISI 420 is magnetic. If a non-magnetic tool is a hard requirement on your site, contact us before ordering.

Which industries specify stainless steel tools?

Food processing, pharmaceutical and laboratory work, clean rooms, chemical and wastewater plants, and coastal or marine maintenance: anywhere corrosion or contamination is the governing risk.

Can I buy individual tools rather than a set?

Most lines are available individually, with sizes chosen on the product page. There is also a boxed screwdriver set.
