Why backorders?
We’ve added a much wider range of Beta Tools so you can access the full catalogue. We hold popular items in Australia, but with 10,000+ SKUs it’s not possible to stock everything locally. When an item isn’t in local stock, you can place a backorder and we’ll source it directly from Italy.
How to spot a backorder item
On product pages and in your cart you’ll see one of the following statuses:

In Stock (Australia): ships next business day.

Low Stock: limited quantities in Australia.

Backorder (Ships from Italy): order now and we’ll bring it in for you.

Unavailable: temporarily not available to order.
If an item is on backorder, this will be clearly indicated before you check out.
Lead times (from order to Australian arrival)

Standard backorder by air freight: 4–8 weeks from order confirmation.

ETAs are best estimates and may vary due to factory schedules, freight capacity, customs/biosecurity clearance, and peak-season congestion.

If your ETA changes materially, we’ll notify you promptly.
Note: Lead time reflects arrival to Australia. Allow extra time for domestic dispatch and delivery to your address once goods land and clear.
Order processing & updates

Order confirmation: immediate email receipt.

Sourcing: we place your item(s) with Beta Italy and book air freight.

ETA advice: we’ll share an estimated arrival window once confirmed with the supplier and forwarder.

Milestone updates: you’ll receive updates at key stages (supplier confirmed, in transit, arrived in Australia, dispatched to you).

Tracking: tracking is provided once your parcel leaves our Australian warehouse.
Partial shipments (mixed orders)

Default: we ship your order when complete to minimise freight costs and packaging.

Need the in-stock items sooner? Contact us and we can split-ship available items. Additional shipping charges may apply for multiple consignments.
Payment

Payment is captured at checkout to secure your backorder.

Prices are locked at the time of purchase.
Cancellations & changes

Within 24 hours of purchase: contact us to cancel or amend your backorder at no charge.

After 24 hours: we may have already committed your item with the supplier. We’ll do our best to help, but cancellations or changes may be unavailable or may incur a fee to cover supplier and freight commitments.

If your ETA extends beyond 8 weeks, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to continue, swap to an alternative, or cancel for a refund.
Returns & warranty

Backordered items are new, genuine Beta Tools products and carry the same manufacturer warranty as in-stock items.

Returns follow our standard Returns Policy (conditions apply). If you need help, contact us with your order number and item details.
Out-of-stock alternatives
If timing is critical, we can:

Check for functionally equivalent Beta items that are in stock locally.

Offer a split shipment so you receive available items first.
-
Provide lead-time options across similar products to help you choose the quickest path.
Freight & delivery notes

Backorders arrive into Australia by air freight. After arrival and clearance, domestic delivery time depends on your location and carrier network.

Remote or regional areas may require additional transit time.

Any delivery date provided is an estimate and not a guaranteed arrival date.
Special notes for business customers

If you’re purchasing for a project with a fixed deadline, please advise your required-by date at checkout or contact us—our team can propose stocking plans or phased deliveries.

For multi-site orders, we can consolidate or drop-ship to individual locations once goods land.
